to Sandi, Rebekah, Miranda and your respective husbands/ partners, your children and other family members i may have not mentioned in this tribute, it is with deep sadness i learnt of the passing of Charles via my cousin astute vision of the local Marlborough paper. Charles (Charlie) and i grew up pretty much as young boys playing on the verandah and long hallway of the old New Renwick rd homestead, and me being taught piano by Mrs Wiffen in the turrent room. My Father also being the farm manager for Lester and Vera so long ago. I have always regarded Charles as a most elequent and caring person, and as the years went by and our focus in life changed for us both, i will always remember him as a fine upstanding gentleman. To you all, i offer my sincere and heartfelt condolences at your loss of such an awesome person, Husband, Father, Granddad, Father-inlaw and best of all, a unique and gentle friend to so many. R.I.P with Angels Charlie Ps; i have some still photos of the old home ablaze

Hi Miranda & Family, Sorry we cannot be there today in Christchurch to attend Charles funeral. We will watch from afar in Japan as you send ‘Pa’ off in style boys. He was one of the best. So nice to know that he was gifted to you as your Dad Miranda. Love & hugs Mark, Michelle, Billie & Corbin Xxxx
