On November 23, 2024, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his close family, aged 52 years. Much loved Dad of Matthew, and Katie Rive, beloved son of Ian Rive and Sheryl Miller, loved brother of Phil Rive, Robyn Miller, and Trudy Miller.

A special thanks to the staff on Ward 16 Christchurch Hospital and Nurse Maude Hospice for their exceptional care of Derek.

A funeral service for Derek will be held in our Oaklands Chapel, corner of Wigram and Halswell Junction Roads, Halswell,  on Thursday, November 28, at 2.30pm.
