So saddened to hear of Nick’s death this morning and send my love and very deepest sympathy to you all on the loss of a beloved husband, father and grandfather - I remember him so fondly as a house surgeon at Kew Hospital (many years ago), striding down the long corridor, his white coat flapping behind him, his stethoscope swinging - always racing from one patient to the next, so passionate and dedicated to his profession. May you rest in peace Nick.

Dear family I was shocked to hear of Dr Terpstra's death just now. He was my fathers docter in Invercargill eventually at Rowena Jackson Retirement Home until he died. My father was not the easiest person. To me anyway, and living in Roxburgh things were not always easy which Dr Nick realised. His care, sensitivity and going beyond duty has never been forgotten. Lovely lovely man Liz Black Roxburgh

We were shocked and saddened to read of Nick's (Terpie) death. He was our family Doctor for nearly 38 years, seeing us through so many difficult times. Always ready with a smile and a listening ear. What a tragic loss to the medical world, he will be missed so much. Our deepest sympathy to Liz and family. Brian & Helen Hotton & Family. Invercargill.

Farewell Nick from your colleagues in the south. You were the giant in our ranks, and your patients have missed you badly. It was so sad they did not have the opportunity to say farewell when you left us. What a sod of a condition you had, but we are glad you are not suffering any longer May God bless your family and give them the strength to manage without you.
