Hei Scott, I am really luck to meet you at work in Multiconsult, Norway. You are such a nice guy, intelligent, diligent and fantastic to work with. I still do remember you shared your story about you played Rugby in New Zealand. When you hit the local Maori player just like hit a wall. You told me how it was felt. I told you mines in China too. We were in department trip in Beitostølen, we shared the same room and had a "bedtime meeting" as I have had in student's dormitory shared with other 5 students, when I studied in China. Farewell Scott! Wish you rest in peace in heaven! Your Chinese friend from Norway!

I was lucky enough to meet Scott when we ended up at College House together in our first year of uni... But I had spotted him before - being a Nelson College rival, it was hard to miss the guy on the Nayland College volleyball team with a giant afro! Over the years since leaving uni, we stayed in touch and whilst our paths didn't cross on my trip through Albania (he was working somewhere very remote) I bumped into him back in Christchurch in 2021. Hearing the recent news allowed me to reflect on those times we got to catch up more recently and I will remember Scott's smiling face and easy-going attitude fondly. My thoughts are with his partner and family in this difficult time. Rest in Peace, mate.

Dear Scott, dear former roommate, dear friend, dear brother from a different mother, we've been on a few adventures together in Norway, Sweden, Japan, Svalbard, Germany, or Switzerland, even New Zealand. You've never hesitated to cross oceans and continents to come and say hello, have a Laphroaig and a little bit of cheese with some sausages from my parents village. Together, we've climbed mountains, skied them, camped on them, cooked on them (#BaconStrips), laughed on them. Hell, we even sampled them! I've seen your ups, I've seen your downs, I've seen you love, and I've seen you being loved (especially these past weeks). I've seen you make people smile with your contagious feelings (and some of your weird kiwi expressions)! We never had to speak everyday for hours and hours, but we understood each other, and every time we caught up with one another, nothing has changed between us. You will be missed by many. I will f***ing miss you for sure! But I've started running, so even if I run much slower than you, I'll take you with me and you can keep doing what you loved! Val
