Passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, peacefully at Nurse Maude Hospice Christchurch, aged 62 years, after a long battle with bowel cancer. Loved husband of Sandy and father to Emma, Michael and Grace, and father-in-law to Ryan. Loved son of Patricia (Pat) and the late Neil. Cherished brother of Christine and Gary. Brother-in-law of Jeff, Rayleen, Shirl and Steven, Diane and Bernie, and Uncle of Marc and Luke, Ashleigh and Kirstin, and Holly, Victoria, and Phoebe. Our heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Nurse Maude Hospice for their love and care of Wayne in his final week. In lieu of flowers, donations to Nurse Maude Hospice would be appreciated and may be made at the service. A celebration of Wayne’s life, and in recognition of his many years of military service, will be held at All Saints Chapel, Burnham Military Camp, on Thursday, August 8, at 11.00 am prompt, followed by a private cremation. All are welcome to attend Wayne’s service, photo ID and other details may be taken upon entry to the camp. As per Wayne’s wishes, from 10:15 am -10:45 am we invite guests to leave a message on his coffin if they wish, followed by refreshments in the mess nearby.
